John Keel and his Adventures into Unreality -- High Strangeness -- Sott.net

This is an extremely well-written article that is very relevant to the so-called "2012 event," whatever it may be. We could speculate endlessly about what will happen in that year, but for sure, it is bound to be a nexus point for all manners of weirdness and manipulation of physical reality beyond human capabilities as John Keel experienced leading up to the collapse of the Silver Bridge in 1967 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Throughout recorded history, humans have interacted with a whole host of bizarre entities and phenomena, angels and demons, faeries and goblins, djinns, bardo beings, dragons, giants, and so on. Humans are easily suggestible and programmable through such events. Are we so arrogant with our scientific theories that we can claim a rational explanation for these events that conforms to 'consensus reality?' Of course not. Events like this promote shrugs and head scratching at best, paranoia and insanity at worst. In studying the events surrounding Point Pleasant, Keel must have truly felt like a fictional character who was at the mercy of some deranged writer who was authoring an insanely complex and utterly confusing book. The events described in his book are so ridiculous, so ludicrous, that it suggests that 1967 was the year that was 'picked' to bring the UFO and alien contact phenomenon very strongly into mainstream culture, and at the same time debunk it on account of how unbelievable the story was. This coincided with the the Space Race, and many people seem to have been misdirected in that year as a result of these mass shenanigans. Is it possible that many could be misdirected again in '2012' as so many were in 1967? I say yes, quite possibly, many will be swept up in the fervor of 2012 predictions and prophecies. Just a few thoughts to keep in mind as we approach the infamous year folks.

עִבְרִית

Note: For more on these subjects, see my second post.

I love language. I love to greet all the diverse people I work with in their native language, it makes them smile. Even if those are the only words that I know. One of the most interesting languages I've ever studied in depth is Hebrew (עִבְרִית) Ivrit.

I'm getting to where I know the alephbet well enough to sound out some words. Unlike the Latin alphabet, the Hebrew alephbet is an abjad, in which each symbol usually stands for a consonant; the speaker almost always supplies the appropriate vowel sound according to context.

Understanding the names of the letters requires us to look at an even older alphabet, the Phoenician system of writing. As this Proto-Sinaitic alphabet was derived from Egyptian hieroglyphs, each letter means something in and of itself. This chart, from left to right, shows the idealized letterforms of Phoenician, the Unicode symbols, the letter's name, the meaning of the word, the phoneme, and the corresponding letter in the Hebrew, Syriac, Arabic, Greek, Latin, and Cyrillic alphabets.

Now this is all very interesting by itself, but my real interest in Hebrew comes from my studies of Qabala/Kaballah, Jewish mysticism.

This link is one of the most interesting sites I've ever found about Hebrew, Qabala, Gematria, Astrology, Tarot, and archetypal maps. Since Hebrew is a formative hyperlanguage, you can take the Tree of Life and map it onto the Cube of Space.

Don't mess with my zodiac!

I've been interested in astrology ever since I began reading descriptions of my sun sign, Gemini. I felt that most of them described me to a 't'. Consistently, from source to source, they knew me all too well. Naturally, not everyone will have this experience. I really approached it objectively, I never "wanted to believe that it was true," I just felt that it was right on target over and over.

Internet 2.0

The Internet is set to evolve into something far greater than we have ever imagined. Whereas now, we think globally and act locally, the next step for us is to think galactically and act globally. The new millennium signals a time when the enterprise of sharing ideas has become the greatest achievement of our race. After thousands of years of killing each other, we finally get along with each other enough to share our secrets, collaborate, brainstorm, mind map, translate, help each other, learn about each other, make a large, foreboding land and sea feel like a home, for now we can click and drag our little mouse pointer and watch our home scale up or down in size according to our wishes. We have made the transition from fantasy literature, with faeries, elves, gnomes, goblins, demons, etc. to science fiction, with its never-ending array of aliens, genetic experiments, hyper-dimensional beings, time travellers, super-intelligent entities, space-age technologies, faster than light travel, and so on. There is a reason for this transition. More on this to come.
